Chile offers an exciting array of red wines. Not only is this South American country able to deliver a wide range of styles—including light-bodied reds as well as plush, rich and structured pours—it also performs well in the value and premium wine spaces.

From cool coastal-influenced regions to dry inland valleys and brisk high-altitude locales, Chile’s terroirs are as diverse as its offerings. Among the many wine-producing valleys, Casablanca, Maipo and Colchagua are some of the more well known. Look for a range of reds, from rich Syrah, structured Cabernet Sauvignon and herbal Carmenère. Light-bodied red wines like Pinot Noir and País can also be found.

From well-priced Cab and Pinot Noir to premium icon bottlings, Chile offers it all. Here are 12 red wines to explore the country’s offerings.
